Birthday Boy is the first of a series of six books.
The Birthday Boy’s parents invite sixteen children from the childrens’s home to celebrate their son’s birthday with their family.
What a wonderful experience for all the children and carers. The birthday celebration and the children’s laughter echo through the building.
The book explains what a children’s home is, as well as the management and staff.
There are various colourful illustrations and the children can also colour some of the pictures. Questions can be answered in the book and new words are highlighted.
Charmaine Ingram is the writer of this series of books.
Charmaine was a baby, her sister was six, and two brothers, two and four years old, when they were placed in a children’s home.
Charmaine is the mother of two sons and a daughter and the grandmother of three.
After her husband’s death, she worked as a carer in the home where she grew up. Here she experienced many humorous moments with the children.
Charmaine wants to reach out to the children and offer them a better future through her books.
